Del Valle ISD will offer free state-mandated pre-k for students who meet eligibility requirements.

For those students who do not qualify, a tuition-based pre-k program IS AVAILABLE. See additional information below.

As part of our commitment to early childhood education, Del Valle ISD offers a free and a tuition-based Pre-K4 program. Students must turn 4 years of age by September 1, 2026 to enroll in Pre-K4 programs for the 2026-2027 School Year.

2026-27 Free Pre-K Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for enrollment in the state-mandated, no-cost, full-day Pre-K program, a child must be four years of age on or before September 1st of the starting school year, live in the district boundaries, and must meet one of the following criteria and provide current documentation:

Students who are limited in English proficiency.
- Our language assessment team will contact families of students (if applicable) to set language testing appointments.
Students who are eligible for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, or qualify based on family income.
- A current benefits letter for your student for SNAP, TANF, and/or Medicaid must be provided. If not, proof of income must be provided for one month's worth of current pay for the entire household. (Click Here to see Federal Income Guidelines)
Students of active duty military personnel.
- A Department of Defense Photo ID can be presented or a Statement of Service can be provided.
Students of a member of the armed forces of the U.S., including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
- Applicable documentation will be required. Retired military does not meet this criteria.
Students who are currently or have ever been in foster care in the state of Texas following an adversary hearing.
- A copy of the letter from DFPS for students formerly in foster care, or a copy of the 2085 form for students currently in foster care must be provided.
Students who are currently experiencing homelessness.
- The Student Residency Questionnaire (SRQ) form must be completed during the enrollment application.
Students of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as:
- Under Texas Government Code §3106.002, Texas Government Code §3106.003, or Texas Government Code §3106.004.
Students of certified classroom teachers (as defined by HB2):

Students who qualify for the state-mandated, no-cost Pre-K program do not have an application deadline and are guaranteed admission into the program if they meet residency requirements.

2026-27 Paid Pre-K Eligibility Requirements

The deadline for Tuition Pre-K has passed for the 2025-2026 School Year, except to new DVISD employees.

For families who do not qualify for free Pre-K, DVISD is launching a Tuition-Based Pre-K4 program to provide additional opportunities for early childhood education. The deadline to apply for tuition-based Pre-K is May 15, allowing the district to allocate resources and staffing accordingly.

Eligibility Requirements:

Students must live within the DVISD boundaries (out-of-district transfers are not permitted, except for DVISD staff).

Tuition and Enrollment Details:

Monthly tuition for full-day Pre-K4 is $700.
The deadline to apply for tuition-based Pre-K is May 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
Families will be notified of enrollment status by May 22, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
No waitlist will be maintained.
Families enrolling in the Tuition-Based Pre-K4 program must accept their seat and submit the first month’s tuition by May 12, 2026. Details will be provided in the acceptance email.
Campus selection will be based on your attendance zone.

Two-Way Dual Language Program

Del Valle ISD will offer a Two-Way Dual Language model where both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking students participate in the Dual Language program beginning in Pre-K. This program will be available for Pre-K students based on availability. Please visit this webpage for requirements.

Step 1: Gather Documents

The following information is needed to complete Pre-K student enrollment.

Parent/Guardian Driver’s License, Matricula, or Photo ID
Proof of Immunization: Immunization Requirements
Proof of Residence: Current Utility Bill, Current Lease, Current Mortgage Statement, or Certificate of Residence
Documentation of Student Identity (Order a Texas Birth Certificate
- Over age 11 examples: birth certificate, statement of birth from Texas Department of State Health Services, Driver’s license, passport, military ID, hospital birth record, or adoption records.
- Under age 11 examples: a certified copy of the birth certificate is required per Code of Criminal Procedures, Article 63.019. If you are unable to produce a certified copy of the birth certificate within 30 days from enrollment, or up to 90 days from enrollment for a child not born in the United States you must provide one of the examples for over age 11 and a signed note explaining why you are unable to produce a certified copy of the birth certificate.

*If applicable, Legal Documents: Educational Power of Attorney, Form 2085 (CPS/Foster Care), Guardian Custody, Court Documents (Divorce Decrees, Temporary Placements/Guardianship, Restraining Order, etc.)

Step 2: Enroll Online

If you have no students currently enrolled at Del Valle ISD:

Create your Family Access account by clicking here. Account creation can take up to 48 hours.

Note, if you are returning to Del Valle ISD after having been withdrawn, you will need to request a new account. Use your DVISD Skyward Family Access account to enroll a new student. Click here to log in.

After logging in to Skyward Family Access, select the New Student Online Enrollment tab on the left side of the screen. Complete all information to complete the registration process for your new student.

Pre-K Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much does the tuition-based program cost?
The monthly tuition for full-day Pre-K4 is $700 per month.

2. Will the tuition-based program be discounted for employees?
Yes, employees will receive a 20% discount. The monthly tuition for full-day Pre-K4 is $560 per month.

3. What is the next step if my child is enrolling in the tuition-based program?
Families must accept their seat and submit the first month’s tuition payment by May 23, 2025. The enrollment application will be finalized once your payment is received.

4. How will I make payments?
Please use the following link to make your monthly tuition payments electronically: https://delvalleisd.hometownticketing.com/embed/event/1783?access_code=bedd5c706864b95afb04308327e3c377a10fee40. DVISD will also accept personal checks or money orders that can be made payable to: Del Valle ISD. Payments can be made at the District PEIMS Department or to the Campus Secretary.

5. When are payments due?
For non-DVISD employees, tuition is due on the 1st of each month. If payment is not received by the 5th of
each month, an additional $50.00 late fee will be added to your monthly tuition. If payment is not received by
the 15th of each month, your student will be withdrawn from DVISD and will not be permitted to re-enroll in the
tuition-based Pre-K Program. DVISD employees will be required to set up payroll deductions.

6. If my student is not accepted into the ACE program, will I be able to cancel my student’s Pre-K4 enrollment and receive a refund?
Yes, you will receive a full refund if your student is not accepted into the ACE program. ACE notifications will be sent June 25, 2025. You will have until July 11, 2025 to email Pre-K@dvisd.net and cancel your enrollment for a full refund.

7. Once my student is enrolled into DVISD’s tuition-based Pre-K4 program, can I withdraw my
student? Will I be refunded any tuition?
● Yes, you may withdraw your student at any time after they have been enrolled into the tuition-based Pre-K4 program. Please see your Campus Registrar for assistance.
● If you withdraw your student after the 1st of the month, you will not receive a refund or prorated tuition for the current month. No additional tuition payments will be due after withdrawal.
