Pre-K Registration

To our new Pre-K students and families:
Hello! We are excited to have you join our early learning community!

FREE DVISD Pre-K is available to all DVISD students regardless of state-required qualifications listed below. 

To be eligible for enrollment in the State-Mandated, No-Cost, Full-Day Pre-K program, a child must be four years of age on or before September 1st of the starting school year, live in the district boundaries, and must meet one of the following criteria and provide current documentation:

  • Students who are limited in English proficiency. 
    • Our language assessment team will contact families of students (if applicable) to set language testing appointments.
  • Students who are eligible for NSLP, SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, or qualify based on family income.
    • A current benefits letter for your student for SNAP, TANF, and/or Medicaid must be provided. If not, proof of income must be provided for one month's worth of current pay for the entire household. (Click Here to see Federal Income Guidelines)
  • Students of active duty military personnel.
    • A Department of Defense Photo ID can be presented or a Statement of Service can be provided. 
  • Students of a member of the armed forces of the U.S., including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
    • Applicable documentation will be required. Retired military does not meet this criteria.
  • Students who are currently or have ever been in foster care in the state of Texas following an adversary hearing. 
    • A copy of the letter from DFPS for students formerly in foster care, or a copy of the 2085 form for students currently in foster care must be provided.
  • Students who are currently experiencing homelessness.
    • The Student Residency Questionnaire (SRQ) form must be completed during the enrollment application.
