Covid Rapid Testing
In Del Valle ISD, we remain committed to doing all we can to keep staff and students healthy and safe. During the 2021-2022 school year, DVISD will offer rapid COVID-19 tests for symptomatic students and staff. This program allows DVISD to test individuals and reduce the risk to our community. For more information regarding testing through DVISD, please continue reading this page. For information regarding other testing locations across Travis County, please click here.
*PLEASE NOTE: Rapid Tests are available in the nurse's office at all DVISD schools for students who display symptoms during the school day. If students are symptomatic at home or off campus, please register for a test appointment at the link below. Symptomatic individuals should not go to any campus.
STAFF TESTS: All staff must register for an appointment using the link below.
Parent permission is required for students under 18 to receive a test. Only one consent form is required for the entire school year, however; parents will be called anytime a test is recommended for their child.
Appointments are required to receive a test.
The testing location is outside of the DVISD Administration Building (5301 Ross Rd.) All tests are administered in your car as a drive up, please do not enter any district building if you are symptomatic.
What tests are used in this program?
This program uses GenBody Covid-19 tests, which provide results in 15 minutes and are administered using a nasal swab in the front area of the nostril. These tests have been shown to be highly accurate for symptomatic individuals.
How will the information from the tests be used?
Individuals receive a letter with results upon being tested. The results will also be shared with the school/district and with the state and local health departments to allow for public health reporting and contact tracing and to determine the stay-at-home period for individuals who test positive.
