Glenn Pruitt joins the Fine Arts Department after working in the Del Valle School District for a year previously with DARTS. Mr. Pruitt is excited to begin his music teaching career with the choirs at Ojeda Middle School, and Dailey Middle School and watching the young musicians grow in their craft. He received his degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts from Texas Culinary Academy in 2007. After working successfully as a professional chef, Glenn received his Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Studies and Certification of Recognition in Performance from The University of Texas at Austin in 2014. He is currently taking course work at Liberty University to receive his Masters in Human Services Counseling with emphasis on youth studies. He is a member of TCDA, and TMEA. Glenn credits his love of music and singing to his grandfather, Charlie Dunwood, and mother, Gloria Rollerson. His high school choir director, Jan Blize, and accompanist Dottie Billman, along with his first voice teacher, Mrs. Patricia Fowzer helped nurture his love and pushed him to pursue it in excellence. Glenn is very active outside of school. He serves on the Praise and Worship Team, sings in the choir, and is the Youth and Young Adult Director at the Open Door Church of God in Christ in Austin. In his spare time, Glenn loves to spend time with his wife, Natasha and their puppy, Rocco, and friends. Glenn enjoys exploring the outdoors, swimming, camping and fishing, and checking out new eateries in Austin.
