Kids wear a pocket necklace for poems.

Poetry can be celebrated at any time of year, but students at Gilbert Elementary recently participated in a day dedicated to this form of literature. Titled “Poem in Your Pocket Day,” students chose a poem and kept it in a special pocket. Throughout the day, students shared their poems with fellow classmates and campus visitors.

A group of ten Del Valle High School students are gaining work experience this summer through internships with the Del Valle ISD Technology Department. Students were selected for their skill set based on interviews with the technology team. The students will earn a paycheck from the district for their work.
