Nichole Thompson announced as new Opportunity Center/DAEP Principal

The district has officially announced Nichole Thompson as the new principal of the Opportunity Center and DAEP, following approval at the June 16, 2026 Board of Trustees meeting. Ms. Thompson was selected for her unique ability to balance rigorous academic support with a compassionate, restorative approach to student behavior.

Over 18 Years of Educational Leadership

Ms. Thompson brings nearly two decades of experience in school improvement, student support, and equity-driven leadership. She joins the campus from Round Rock ISD, where she served as an assistant principal.

Her extensive background includes:

• Restorative Expertise: Serving as a Restorative Educational Consultant, training school administrators across the region.

• Advanced Academics: A Master's degree from Prairie View A&M University and current doctoral candidacy in Educational Leadership at Concordia University Texas.
