Ten student-athletes sign intent letters on National Signing Day 2025
The district celebrated 10 student-athletes who committed to competing at the college level on National Signing Day 2025.
Student-athletes in softball, football, and volleyball signed their letters of intent, surrounded by coaches, classmates, and family members. The moment marked the beginning of a new chapter, allowing them to continue playing the sport they love while earning a college degree.
Girls Athletics Coordinator Jane Martin congratulated the athletes and reflected on the significance of the occasion before the students signed.
“We are very proud of your hard work, and your determination, through your years here at Del Valle High School,” Jane said. “It has been an honor, and I’m speaking for coaches and administrators and everyone that’s been here for you, to see you grow. Some of you from elementary through high school. We could not be more proud. Thank you for being a part of laying the foundation for future Cardinals.”

Boys Athletics Coordinator Todd Patmon also recognized the athletes’ achievements and thanked parents for their support in making this moment possible.
“We’ve had the opportunity to have your most prized possession, which is always your children. All of you that are signing, now is when the work begins. We’re very proud of you, and looking forward to what you’ll do once you leave here,” he said.
The soon-to-be graduates have worked tirelessly to earn spots at their respective universities, demonstrating dedication to both their sport and academics. Martin emphasized the importance of their academic success.
“Academically, the students here today, are at the top of their class. They must first maintain the grades to get accepted into their university of choice and the pillars of academic and athletics strength will grow,” Jane said. “That’s what we strive for here in Del Valle ISD.”
