Nine student-athletes participate in National Signing Day 2024
Del Valle ISD celebrated a handful of student-athletes who participated in National Signing Day 2024 as they committeded to compete in their sport at the collegiate level after graduation.
Years of hard work and dedication have led these students to this milestone in their lives. Surrounded by family, friends, teammates, coaches, and many others, the student-athletes celebrated the massive accomplishment as each one of them signed their letter of intent and locked in their school choice.
DVISD Athletic Director Silvia Salinas congratulated the student-athletes, encouraging them to continue persevering as they enter the next stage of their lives.
"National Signing Day is very special for athletes and here at DVISD. I commend them and am happy that nine student-athletes committed today,” she said. “Being a student-athlete is like having two jobs. You have to take care of work in the classroom, and then you also have an after-school job where you're putting work in on holidays, weekends, along with blood, sweat, and tears into perfecting the craft. I’m excited that we’re celebrating them for their hard work and seeing it pay off, so it’s really special to see.”
