'Box of Dreams' Gift Sets DVISD Students Up for Success

Del Valle ISD elementary school students were surprised on Friday with free school supply kits that include all the materials they’ll need to have an awesome start to the school year. TEXAS YES Project, a nonprofit that works to close the gap for educational equality, has partnered with DVISD since 2018 to bring “Box of Dreams” to all the district’s elementary students. Kindergarteners through fifth graders received the kits on Friday bringing smiles, cheers, high-fives, and hugs.

Del Valle ISD serves nearly 12,000 students, and continues to grow. This generous donation will help boost students' confidence and help them achieve their goals this school year.

Thomas J Henry says he hopes by helping students out during these distribution events it will give students the tools and opportunities to help them grow.
