The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) has announced the 109 winners of the 2025 District of Distinction Award, and Del Valle ISD is proud to be among them, marking its sixth consecutive year receiving this prestigious honor.

The award recognizes districts that provide a well-rounded education through strong advocacy and integration of visual arts programs. These programs foster creativity, enhance social-emotional learning, and connect students to their communities and beyond through the arts.

For the 2025 award, over 1,200 school districts across Texas were eligible to apply. Each submitted documentation demonstrating performance across a rigorous 14-point rubric during the 2024-2025 school year. Only 109 districts met the high standard, placing them in the top 8 percent for visual arts education in Texas.

Del Valle ISD delivers engaging and inclusive visual arts instruction to all students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Certified and dedicated visual arts educators collaborate with teachers across disciplines to provide creative, content-rich learning opportunities. Students explore a range of artistic techniques and media, and are encouraged to participate in regional and state art competitions, professional artist workshops, and community art projects. These experiences help students build confidence, express their ideas, and connect with others through art.

Del Valle ISD, along with 108 other recognized districts, will be honored at the TAEA District of Distinction Awards Ceremony in November, during the TAEA Fall Conference in Round Rock, Texas.
