The Texas Education Agency (TEA) rated Del Valle ISD a “B” district in their accountability reports released to school districts across Texas today. In addition to the district’s B rating, all DVISD campuses met standard. The district’s rating is the highest for Del Valle ISD under the current TEA accountability system.

“We are extremely proud of our students and staff for this achievement,” said Superintendent Dr. Annette Tielle, “This is a significant indication that the work we have done to close the achievement gaps from COVID is working. Our scores are a direct result of the systems we have put in place to promote academic excellence, as well as campus leadership and teacher commitments in Del Valle ISD.”

In addition to the district’s ratings, Del Valle ISD has highly rated schools including A and B rated campuses. Smith Elementary School was rated an A campus, the district’s first A-rated campus.

“We not only have the best teachers; we have the right teachers at Del Valle who are making a difference in our students’ lives,” Superintendent Tielle said, “Today’s news is exciting and we want to continue this momentum by maintaining high expectations because that is what our students deserve.”

Del Valle ISD schools also earned distinctions for exceptional achievement in specific areas:

Collins Elementary: Math

Smith Elementary:  ELA/Reading, Math, Science, Academic Growth, Postsecondary Readiness, Closing the Gaps

Del Valle Middle School: Closing the Gaps

Del Valle High School: Science, Social Studies
