Our 16 Teachers of the Year were honored recently at a banquet hosted by the DVISD Education Foundation. Out of the campus winners, two teachers were selected as the district's overall winners. One was chosen at the elementary level, and another from the secondary schools.
DVISD’s Teachers of the Year are Maria Benitez-Suarez, a special education teacher at Joseph Gilbert Elementary, and Alyssa Baker, a science teacher at John P. Ojeda Middle School!
The two winners received a commemorative plaque, $500 from the Education Foundation, a gift from Kendra Scott, and two roundtrip tickets from Southwest Airlines anywhere in the U.S.
