Tax Rate Hearing

Board of Trustees adopts 2025-2026 tax rate

The Del Valle ISD Board of Trustees has set the total property tax rate for the 2025–2026 school year at $0.9489 per $100 of property value. This new rate is $0.048 lower than last year’s rate.

Breaking down the tax rate

The adopted rate is made up of two parts:

  • $0.6189 (Maintenance & Operations, or M&O): Funds day-to-day operations like teacher salaries, academic programs, and student support.
  • $0.3300 (Interest & Sinking, or I&S): Pays off school construction and facility bonds approved by voters.

Transparency and trust

The adopted tax rate is lower than both last year’s rate and the state-calculated “no-new-revenue rate.” This means the district is doing more with less, keeping taxes down while maintaining services for students.

External factors, such as rising costs of goods and services and limits on state funding, continue to challenge school budgets. Despite these pressures, Del Valle ISD has adopted a balanced approach that prioritizes students and staff.

Commitment moving forward

Del Valle ISD remains committed to being transparent and fiscally responsible while keeping student success at the center of every decision.
