DVISD Covid Vaccine Information for 5 - 11 year olds

Dear Del Valle ISD families,

This week, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) approved the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for children ages 5 - 11. Del Valle ISD is offering the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccinations to students ages 5 through 11 at each elementary and middle school campus.

First Dose Schedule

November 8-Popham ES

November 9- Collins ES and Ojeda MS

November 10-Del Valle ES and Del Valle MS

November 11- Hillcrest ES and Dailey MS

November 12- Smith ES

November 15- Creedmoor ES

November 16- Baty ES

November 17- Hornsby ES

November 18- Gilbert ES

Please note: The clinics are for students with a completed and returned parent consent form. Students without a consent form will not receive the vaccine. The Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine is a two-dose series separated by a minimum of 21 days, the second clinic date will be after the Thanksgiving holiday and will be communicated at least 1 week prior to the clinic date.


  • The UT Children’s Wellness Center is providing the on campus vaccines. 
  • Students participating in Virtual Academy can receive the vaccine at their home campus.
  • Consent forms are required for a student to receive a vaccination at school. Only one form per student is required for both doses.

    • Paper consent forms are available at all campus offices and were sent home with students on Monday, November 1.
    • Parents must complete all highlighted questions, including a signature. Please return the form to your child’s classroom teacher prior to the vaccine clinic date. 
  • In addition, your child should not receive the vaccine if they are currently sick, in isolation period for Covid-19 (10 days since onset), or are within 90 days of having received monoclonal antibodies for Covid-19.
    • If you answer yes to any of the following questions, please call 512-386-3073 prior to your child’s vaccination date.
      • Does your child have any history of severe allergic reactions to anything (food, insect stings, medication)? 
      • Does your child feel dizzy or light-headed when receiving injections or do you faint with injections?

Other vaccine options

  • If you prefer to be with your child when the vaccine is administered, please note that 5-11 year olds can also receive the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine on Saturdays starting on November 6 at clinics located at two DVISD campus sites. These clinics also provide vaccines for people 12 and older and do not require an appointment.

    • Del Valle Opportunity Center (5301 Ross Rd.)
    • Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
