Multilingual Learning
Enrollment for the 2026-2027 School Year opens on April 1.
The Del Valle ISD's Multilingual Department for Dual Language and ESL Programs is committed to serving the linguistic, affective, and cognitive needs of our students, families, and community.
The DVISD Dual Language and ESL Programs provide high academic instruction with a focus of promoting awareness of their own culture and appreciation of the cultures of others.
Two-Way Dual Language
Our Two-Way Dual Language Immersion program is open to students of families who would like to learn Spanish and who speak a language other than Spanish at home.
Nuestro programa de lenguaje dual bidireccional está abierto a estudiantes de familias que deseen aprender español y que hablen un idioma en casa que no sea español.
Enrollment Process and Considerations
Incoming Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students who speak English at home may be eligible to participate in our Two-Way Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Program. This program is available at all DVISD elementary schools!
Space for Spanish Learners in the Two-Way DLI Program is very limited, subject to change year by year, and campus by campus because the legal priority of Del Valle ISD's DLI Program is to serve our Emergent Bilingual students who are learning English.
Families interested in applying for the Two-Way Dual Language program must attend one of our required parent meetings. Attending a meeting is the only way to receive an application for this program, families must also complete the district's enrollment process at www.dvisd.net/welcome. Parents can attend any meeting, even if it is not their home campus.
