What is LEAD?

LEAD Enrichment Afterschool in Del Valle is a free program that is available for all students from Pre-K to 12th grade. This afterschool enrichment program provides a variety of opportunities including, but not limited to: Chess, Robotics, Athletics, Fine Arts, and Homework Help. Students participating in LEAD get dinner and the option for district transportation home. LEAD has limited space per campus. If more students sign up than space is available, there will be a lottery and waiting list.

What is Cardinal Care?

Cardinal Care is a fee-based afterschool program similar to Extend-A-Care. Cardinal Care is available for Pre-K through 5th grade. Unlike LEAD, students in Cardinal Care do not participate in different classes and are able to work on homework with activities that include crafts, games, cooking, and more. Students in Cardinal Care receive dinner. District transportation is not provided for students in Cardinal Care.

LEAD Mission

The mission of the Del Valle ISD LEAD after school program is to provide a variety of experiential learning opportunities with the purpose of enhancing student academic achievement, encouraging family and community engagement, and empowering students to become productive 21st Century leaders.
