ACE x LEAD is an afterschool enrichment program for Grades 1- 12. ACE x LEAD enrichment activities may include activities, academic tutoring, field trips, and more.

ACE Academy is an afterschool program for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. ACE Academy will be centered around project based learning as well as additional limited enrichment offerings on a rotation block based schedule. ACE Academy provides a dedicated after school group for our youngest students.

Yes, there is a limit to the amount of students who can attend ACE x LEAD and ACE Academy at each campus. Currently, 115 students per campus, depending on staff availability, will be admitted to the program. The ACE grant requires a student-to-staff ratio of 15:1. 

15 of the spaces will be available for ACE Academy students in Pre-K and Kindergarten.

Campuses with more students registered than available space will utilize a lottery.

The ACE Program places heavy emphasis on student continuity from one year to the next. Students who were enrolled in the ACE x LEAD Program for the 23-24 School year (Excluding Cardinal Care) received a pre-enrollment invitation. 

Cardinal Care was previously a tuition-based program. For the 2024-2025 School Year, Cardinal Care will be renamed ACE Academy and will be under the ACE Program. As a result of being a new program adopted under the ACE Program Entity, ACE Academy did not receive Pre-Enrollment. All ACE Academy applicants were included in one enrollment process (Early Bird).

If an accepted student has siblings, their siblings are automatically accepted into the After-School Program.

The ACE administration team oversees the lottery process. Each campus lottery is conducted by the Enrichment Specialist at their assigned campus.

The lottery takes place once the window closes for the specified enrollment period leading up to the distribution of acceptance letters. 

Registration for the program will continue throughout the school year. Even if capacity has been reached, we still accept all applications. Those applications will go onto the waitlist.

Yes, once a campus has a waitlist, families will be notified that their student is on the waitlist. Campus-based Enrichment Specialists will frequently monitor the campus waitlist and will communicate with families regarding their status as more sports become available.

The only requirements to attend are to complete the registration process for your child’s campus, receive a confirmation of acceptance by your campus Enrichment Specialist, and attend your campus orientation during the week of August 12 - 15.

Enrichment Specialists will communicate with accepted families regarding their campus orientation date. 

Elementary: 2:50-6 p.m. 

Secondary: 4-6 p.m. 

DVHS: 4:30-6 p.m.

Earliest pickup: 5 p.m.
Latest pickup: 6 p.m.

The ACE grant, which funds the after-school program, has a minimum attendance requirement, meaning 5 p.m. is the earliest time for pickup each day. Similar to excused school absences, there are some exceptions provided on a day-to-day basis, with documentation from the parent. Please talk with your campus Enrichment Specialist on days you may need an earlier pickup.

Yes, all students in both ACE x LEAD and ACE Academy receive a no-cost dinner meal each day.

The district will provide transportation to “group stops” each day for students in ACE x LEAD and ACE Academy. After school program transportation is provided to group stops instead of individual homes. Parents must sign an After-School Program transportation form in order for their student(s) to receive transportation home. Parents must be present at the time of drop-off. If the parent is not present at the time of drop-off, the student will be brought back to their associated campus.

• Gaming/ESports

Yes, Del Valle Elementary and Newton Collins will offer iKidsU for the 2024-2025 School Year. The district will communicate with parents when registration is available from iKidsU. If there is sufficient interest at other campuses, iKidsU may offer additional programs at those schools.
