Afterschool Programs (ACE)

Volunteer with ACE!
We’re looking for caring, dedicated volunteers to help support our Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) programs across the district!
Opportunities include:

Assisting with homework and tutoring
-
Supporting enrichment classes and activities
-
Helping in the cafeteria or during snack time
-
Providing general support for the afterschool program
Program details:
ACE operates at all elementary and middle schools, from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Volunteer requirements:
All volunteers must be approved as district volunteers before participating.

Right at School Option
We are excited to announce that Right At School, a nationally recognized before- and after-school enrichment provider, will operate at Del Valle ES, Hornsby-Dunlap ES, Gilbert ES, Newton Collins ES, and Popham ES in the 2025-26 school year. Right At School will offer after-school programming to PreK-5th grade students beginning on August 11, 2025.
For families who wish to participate in this program, it will be available after school until 6:00 pm every day school is in session. Families can register directly with Right At School and create flexible monthly schedules to support their busy lives.

About Del Valle ISD Afterschool Programs
Del Valle ISD after school programs are available for students in Pre-K through 8th grade. Del Valle ISD offers programming under the federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, administered by the Texas Education Agency's Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE).
Del Valle ISD ACE enhances student academic achievement, encourages family and community engagement, and empowers students to become productive 21st Century leaders.
Program overview
The ACE program in Del Valle ISD is a free, high-quality afterschool program available to all students across the district. Each day, students receive a dedicated hour of academic support, including homework help and tutoring, to reinforce learning and build confidence.
Beyond academics, ACE offers an exciting variety of hands-on enrichment experiences designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Program offerings may include chess, robotics, athletics, visual and performing arts, and more—providing every student a chance to discover new interests and grow their skills in a safe, supportive environment.
Participants also receive a nutritious dinner, and district transportation is available for students who need it.

Transportation: Bus transportation home is available each day
- (Students may be dropped off at hub stops. Parents must agree to the Del Valle ISD approved hub stops and guidelines)
- Hours of operation: Monday - Friday from school dismissal time to 6pm.
- Dinner Provided
- Programming is anticipated to start on August 18, 2025.
- Parent/Guardian Orientation is required before your child starts in the program. Details will be sent to participating families in July.
