Naming Process

The Del Valle ISD Board of Trustees is following the naming process outlined in Board Policy to select a name for the new campus. Nominations were accepted from September 3 through 17, 2025.

A committee reviewed all submissions following policy guidelines, during a meeting on October 6, 2025.

The committee's recommendations will be presented to the Board in October, with a vote at least 2 weeks following the presentation of recommendations.

About High School #2

Del Valle ISD High School #2 is currently under construction in the Whisper Valley neighborhood in the northern portion of the district. This project was approved by voters in the district’s 2022 bond initiative, which received strong community support. The new high school is scheduled to open in August 2027 and serve the growing student population in the northern part of the district.

The 430,000-square-foot facility will offer a comprehensive range of academic and extracurricular programs, including Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. The building was designed by Pfluger Architects, with American Constructors leading the facility's construction. The new high school will incorporate some sustainable features such as ground-source heat pumps and reflective roofing, aligning with the eco-friendly goals of the Whisper Valley community.
