About the Ballot Language

State law requires the ballot to say, "THIS IS A TAX INCREASE." However, homeowners 65 years and older have their property taxes frozen by state law, meaning taxes for seniors cannot increase above the frozen dollar amount.

THIS IS A TAX INCREASE

Ratifying the ad valorem tax rate of $1.0328 per $100 valuation in Del Valle Independent School District for the current year, a rate that will result in an increase of 19.5% percent in maintenance and operations tax revenue for the District for the current year as compared to the preceding year, which is an additional $20,038,349.

Vote by Mail

Applications for voting by mail should be received no later than the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on October 23, 2026. Applications should be sent to:

If an application for ballot by mail is faxed or emailed (or if a federal postcard application is faxed), the applicant must also mail the original application so that the early voting clerk receives the original no later than four days after receiving the emailed or faxed copy.
