2022 Bond Proposition

The proposition is based on a recommendation from the district’s Growth Advisory Committee. The committee, composed of district residents, reviewed demographic reports to identify the recommendations addressing growth in the district. Residents participating in the committee included parents, district staff, and other community members. 

Demographic reports show Del Valle ISD gaining approximately 500 new students per year with some of the largest increases in new residential housing in the Austin region over the next 10 years. The committee’s report to the board included community survey results showing that a new high school and land purchases should be the immediate priorities. Del Valle High School has about 3500 students enrolled for the 2022-2023 school year. Demographic projections show that the district will have more than 4000 high school students in 5 years.

District administration and consultants determined approximate costs for the recommended proposal with added contingency for inflation.

The 2022 bond proposition is not projected to raise the school district’s property tax rate. Additional information on the bond and community information meeting dates will be posted on this page.

Any registered voter living within the Del Valle ISD boundaries is eligible to vote on the proposition. The last day to register to vote for the Saturday, May 7, 2022 election is April 7, 2022 with early voting open from April 25, 2022 through May 3, 2022.
