The 8th Annual DVISD Fine Arts Event featured work and performances from about 600 students and 80 staff members on Saturday, April 17. The event was virtual for the second year in a row with the theme “Arts Connect Us.” The hour-long Facebook live event featured visual arts, music, theatre, and dance disciplines, along with an interactive music contest. The showcase included student work from all grade levels.

“Our teachers and students continue to create high-quality art together with all of the challenges posed by the pandemic,” said DVISD Fine Arts Coordinator Morganne Davies, “This virtual community celebration allowed us to highlight the hard work and exceptional talent of our students and recognized the accolades they earned this year.” The Texas Art Education Association awarded DVISD with the District of Distinction recognition in the fall.

In addition to the showcase, DVISD students attended a UT Fine Arts panel discussion on Zoom, where current UT students answered questions about UT programs and college life questions.

The event is available to watch on the DVISD Facebook page at and with extra content on the Fine Arts website,
