The unconventional school year has created challenges for students, families and staff alike. Keeping the year’s challenges in mind, Popham Elementary School is working hard to spread positivity and kindness across DVISD schools. The Popham Kindness Campaign is promoting positive climate and culture while building a sense of community during February, Kindness Month.

The campaign includes personalized goodie bags with snacks and treats; and they come with one request – to keep the kindness spreading between schools. The bags ask recipients to keep spreading the campaign by delivering a treat to coworkers. The bag also has heart signs to place on office or classroom doors saying “we’ve been hugged” so participants can share their involvement with coworkers.

“What made me think of creating the Popham Kindness Campaign was that I saw how much effort we were putting in keeping morale and spirits up for our staff,” said Deborah Dunderstadt, school receptionist, “With everything that has happened this year, we have really pulled together as a family. I wanted the whole district to experience it, since we are the Del Valle Family. We are all in this together.”
