Daniel Sustaita, a 12th-grade student at Del Valle High School, won the 2020 Del Valle ISD Holiday E-Card competition. This year’s winner will be featured as an e-card to families, staff, and the community through email, social media, and the district website.

Daniel’s winning entry depicts a diverse holiday celebration with the title “Celebrate Together.” The artwork has visuals representing a variety of holidays with floating lanterns, a lighted tree, fireworks, a wreath, and a menorah with families watching in the foreground.

Each year, students throughout the District participate in a holiday contest to create personalized artwork based on a theme provided by the communications and community relations department. Each school selects finalists and the campus finalists are then scored by a panel to identify the winning picture.

“This year has been tough for many people all around the world. It is important to cherish the moments we have with our friends and family,” Daniel said, “In this design, I wanted to show unity and celebration within all winter holidays. We all matter and can persevere through difficult times.”
