Del Valle Elementary has debuted a new Little Free Library, which will offer the community a free book exchange via a special box at the school. DVISD maintenance staff installed the library and campus staff and students have already filled it full of books for all ages. Little Free Library is a worldwide movement with the idea of “take a book, leave a book.” All of the books are free, and anyone taking a book is encouraged to return it or provide another book. It is open to the whole community, not just DVE students.
“By providing 24-hour access to books, we hope to encourage our community to find value in reading and create good reading habits,” said Adalia Nunez-Garcia, Parent Community Liaison at Del Valle Elementary School.
The New Little Library is located on DVE’s sidewalk at the entrance of Thome Valley.
