In an effort to hear and resolve student and/or parent complaints in a timely manner and at the lowest administrative level possible, the board has adopted an orderly process that all students and parents must follow when bringing formal complaints and grievances. Students and parents are encouraged to discuss problems or complaints with the appropriate teacher, principal, or other campus administrator through informal conferences at any time in an effort to resolve grievances informally. If an informal conference regarding a complaint fails to reach the outcome requested by the student or parent, the student or parent may initiate a formal grievance process by filing a written complaint, following procedures provided in School Board Policy FNG (LOCAL) which can be found online at http:// This policy is available on the District’s webpage. Even after initiating the formal complaint process, students and parents are encouraged to seek informal resolution of their concerns. A student or parent whose concerns are resolved may withdraw a formal complaint at any time.
