Del Valle ISD’s Irrigation Specialist Felipe Camacho went on a mission trip to Thoreau, New Mexico from March 18 – 23 to assist Saint Bonaventure Indian Mission to participate in the Navajo Water Project.
The program helps people who live in parts of the country away from public amenities such as water, electricity and wastewater infrastructure. Camacho used his professional skills to install solar panels, subsoil water storage tanks, water distribution lines, pressure tanks, on-demand hot water heaters and cabinets/utility sinks with water access to homes.
“Over 2 million Americans do not have running water,” said Camacho. “Del Valle ISD has created opportunities for me to expand on my occupation to help those across the country.”
