ACC/CTE Graduation

Three Del Valle High School seniors received their Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from Austin Community College on Thursday, May 10, after completing the required coursework in the one-year program.

The Del Valle High School seniors who received their EMT certifications were Alexis Hernandez, Helena Jaramillo and Jacob Rocha.

“Our students enrolled in the EMT certification program offered at Austin Community College have an opportunity to gain practical experience in the medical field before graduating from high school,” said Norris Sebastian, Director of Career and Technical Education.

Students who are enrolled in the dual credit EMT program will graduate high school with 12 hours of college credit and a certification, which enables students to work at regional medical facilities and fire stations.
