CaveSim brought their Mobile Cave program to Del Valle Elementary for two days. On the first day, families who attended the Family Night were encouraged to experience the cave. On the second day, second and fifth-grade classes experienced the cave. In addition to students exploring the cave simulations, CaveSim provided STEM lessons and activities for the classes.

“Every student was engaged. Even those who were fearful of heights or small spaces took a brave leap and tried it out,” commented fifth-grade teacher Kasy Weilnau, “Students were clear on what to do and excited to be a part of every activity. Each lesson connected the students to real-life experiences that they may not have been exposed to here in Austin.  This gave them a desire to understand the situations even more.”
