Isla Poole, a Del Valle Middle School sixth grade student, won the 2019 Del Valle ISD Holiday Card competition. This year’s card will be mailed out to parents, teachers, staff, Board of Trustees, DVISD Education Partners and Del Valle community members.

Isla’s submission depicts two cardinals holding up a Happy Holidays banner. Under the banner is an image of people holding hands in unity. A deer, dog and hedgehog are seated on the snow in the foreground.

Each year, students throughout the District participate in a holiday contest to create personalized artwork based on a theme provided by the communications and community relations department. This year, the theme was “Believe”. Each school selects their finalist and the campus finalists are then scored by a panel to identify the District winning picture.

“I am extremely proud of Isla. Her art is fun and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next,” said Lisette Poole, Isla’s Mom.
