A group of Del Valle High School students recently spent time painting murals at W’ALL Austin. W’ALL is a music venue, art park, and community space located at 6400 FM 969.

The students’ original murals are 8 feet by 8 feet, using “the environment” as a theme. Each mural was designed and painted by students under the supervision of a team of local artists. The murals were featured at the November 16 grand opening of W’ALL Austin and will also be featured in the East Austin Studio Tour.

“Our artists took advantage of the opportunity to become involved in this community art endeavor from start to finish,” said Beranger LeFranc, an art teacher at the high school, “Beginning with their creative ideas and ending with the execution of four large murals, our artists collaborated with professional artists from the community to plan and execute phenomenal pieces of art.”
