Dailey Middle School collaborated with Communities In Schools to host a district-wide College and Career Night. The College and Career Night was free and open to all Del Valle students and parents.
Representatives from a variety of colleges, businesses, and trade schools provided information on requirements needed for students to prepare for college or career after high school graduation. Students used a “bingo sheet” to prompt relevant questions when visiting the representatives, such as “what kind of degree is required?” “do you need a degree to enter into this field?” and “how much will it cost my parents and me?”
“The excitement was apparent on the faces of our students and parents as they explored each exhibitor’s table at College and Career Night,” said CyberTEX representative Danielle Himmendigger, “Building memories and opening up opportunities for higher education is what it’s all about.”
