The Del Valle Independent School District as a public school receives federal funds and is therefore required under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to inform all patrons of the requirements of this Act.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires a recipient which operates a preschool education or day care program or activity may not, on the basis of disability, exclude qualified persons with disabilities from the program or activity and shall take into account the needs of such persons in determining the aid benefits, or services to be provided under the program or activity.

A recipient which operates or sponsors a preschool compensatory education program or activity for children who are deemed disadvantaged because of cultural, economic or linguistic conditions may not, on the basis of disability, exclude persons from its program or activity and shall take into account the needs of such persons in determining the aid benefits or services to be provided under the program or activity.
