Future Chef Competition Winner

Del Valle ISD Child Nutrition hosted the Sodexo Future Chefs’ National Competition on Thursday, March 23, at the Del Valle High School cafeteria to showcase DVISD students’ culinary skills and encourage students to get active and creative in the kitchen.

The winner from the elementary level was Asher Allen, Del Valle Elementary School, with his Sushi Gyro dish, and the winner from the middle school level was Xavian Williams, Del Valle Middle School, for his Stuffed Meatballs dish.

Students from across Del Valle participated in the friendly culinary skills challenge for friends, family and Del Valle ISD administration. The elementary and middle school participants were judged on six categories: originality, healthy attributes, easy preparation, kid-friendly, taste and plate presentation.
