The first week of school is almost over, and Del Valle ISD wanted to look back at the five day Science Mill summer STEM camp held from July 31 – Aug. 4 at the Circuit of the Americas that had 25 of DVISD’s brightest students learning about science, engineering, mathematics and more.

The Del Valle ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) program has developed numerous career pathways for students that offer meaningful coursework and experiences, which align to the needs of our local and national workforce.

Currently, the DVISD CTE program offers 13 career clusters, 23 career pathways and 13 programs of studies in business industry, public service and STEM endorsements. DVISD’s CTE program also offers certifications in Adobe graphic design and illustration, Adobe visual communications, and certification as a patient care technician, emergency medical technician, pharmacy technician and more!

Norris Sebastian, Del Valle ISD CTE coordinator, makes the comparison of selecting a four-year course of study in eighth grade to selecting a major in college, which inevitably helps guides students to their career path.
