The Del Valle High School Varsity Football Team took on the Manor Mustangs on Friday, October 28, in a ‘must-win’ game for the Cardinals.  The team jumped on the Mustangs early thanks to great defensive play and the sure foot of placekicker Marcus Ortega.  Kevin Brooks threw two spectacular touchdown passes to La’Thaniel Washington and ran for a touchdown just before the end of the first half, securing a 28-0 lead.   With some tough runs, Chris Martinez rushed for over 100 yards on the night to lead a Cardinal rushers.  Defensively, the Cardinals were flying around the field making tackles and had fumble recovery on a critical 4th down play that sealed the win for the Cardinals.  With the win, the Cardinals are Playoff Bound!  Their first round opponent is yet to be determined.  The Cardinals return to action on Friday, November 4, at home against the Anderson Trojans.  Go Cards, Take Flight!
