The Del Valle ISD Board of Trustees hosted their first Annual Legislative Breakfast to celebrate School Board Priority Month on October 6. The event provided an opportunity for elected officials to visit with students and educators and to learn more about Del Valle ISD. A video highlight of the event can be found HERE.
Recognized as a statewide event during the month of October, School Priority Month is an effort to promote our public schools and foster important relationships with locally elected officials. Del Valle ISD opened our doors to elected officials of every kind- including congressional representatives, state representatives, sheriffs, judges, commissioners, and city councils- to come and learn about our district and the variety of programs and resources we offer our students and community.
“As pillars of our communities, it is important to ensure each of our locally elected officials understands the importance of public education, and the amazing things going on in our district”, said School Board President Rebecca Birch.
School Board Vice President Ann Heuberger also noted, “We can’t thank our elected officials and their representatives enough for attending this event and showing such tremendous support for Del Valle ISD and our community!”
